Avoid Delays On Moving Day With These Five Simple Tips

Moving day is very exciting but can come with complications if not properly planned.

There are a lot of stresses that come with moving home, but we have created a list of simple home removal tips to help you keep in control:

  1. Avoid same day exchange and completion

If you are involved in a chain it is especially important that you avoid same day exchange and completion and give yourself a breathing space. If you allow around a week between the exchange date and the completion date you will have time to properly execute your move, including time to arrange a postal redirect service.

  1. Pack well in advance

One of the services we offer is to help with your packing, but if you wanted to go it alone it is best to pack well in advance of the moving date. It is advisable to do it at least one week before you move and make sure you wrap, box or pad the items. If you’re in a hurry though, we can lend a helping hand.

  1. Organise a home removals company in advance

Having a removal company to help you throughout the day can take a lot of stress out of the move. If you need to be out of your current home before a certain time, so the new family can enter the property, having a removal company is definitely advisable. As we have helped thousands of homeowners move homes and offices, we can ensure your day goes as smoothly as possible.

  1. Arrange child and pet care

Although you love them, children and pets can be a distraction during the move so it can be worth arranging some extra care for them during the day of the move, just to speed the process up. If child care is another added expense you can’t afford, our removal team will help to ensure there is a safe environment for them during the move.

  1. Final checks

Once you are fully prepared for the day ahead, it is advisable to go through the home and make sure nothing is left and you have everything you need. It is also a good idea to leave your old home in a clean and tidy condition for any new owners or tenants that move into it. So, if you have time, it might be worth going round with the vacuum to make sure it is clean.
