When Is The Best Time To Move Home If You Have Children?
If you’ve moved home before you will know how stressful it can be. Moving home with children can make the day even more difficult!
Our expert team of removal men have helped tons of families move home… so we know when the best time to move is – keeping everyone happy and stress-free.
The easiest thing to do is organise child care for the removal day, to make sure they stay safe and you can crack on, but as we’re sure you already know, children love to be a part of things. So, here at Advanced Removals, we know how to involve them safely so the day runs smoothly and everyone gets to do their bit. If you give your children jobs throughout the day, they will feel much more involved and enjoy themselves too.
So, when is the best day or time to move home if you have children?
School Holidays
Moving house in the school holidays is one of the most popular choices among families, especially during the summer, as this means there is no school run to do during the move, which can reduce stress-levels a lot.
Moving during the school holidays also means homework won’t get disrupted – which is important.
Bank Holiday Weekends
Bank holiday moves are also popular with families when it comes to moving house – usually so that homeowners don’t have to take extra time off work. The negative point with this is, once the move has been completed, you don’t get long before you go back to work and the children go back to school. Taking a few extra days out before returning to work and school will enable you to settle into your new home better.
Saturdays
Saturdays are the most popular choice for movers, which means removal companies get booked up quickly. If your move is fairly small, it is a good idea to do it on a Saturday as this means your children will see little disruption to their school work and the same applies to you and work.
Small house moves on a Saturday are relatively quick and stress-free, which means you can be out of your old home and into your new one in a matter of hours, which is always nice – and good for stress-levels too.
Whatever day you choose don’t forget to communicate with your children and make sure they have their own job (however small) to do as this will encourage them to get involved and remain calm.
